Problem - Kitchen, Glen Ridge, NJ
The layout of the kitchen didn't work for the clients, particularly
the cooktop in the too big island and the placement of the large
refrigerator. The style was bland. (There is no before photo -
alas!) The husband and wife didn't agree about the finish for the
new cabinets – stain or paint?
Solution - Kitchen, Glen Ridge, NJ
Appliances were relocated for maximum function and to reduce the
appearance of bulk. The refrigerator, microwave and tall pantry
blend in a long wall of tall cabinetry. The powerful exhaust hood
is hidden behind cabinetry. The granite countertop on the smaller
island is now completely available for food prep, snacking or guest
mingling. Combining cherry cabinets and a red painted free- standing hutch satisfied both husband and wife. Decorative touches
include pressed tin ceiling, custom lampshades on chandelier &
pendant, hand painted tile, and glazed wall finish.
