Problem:
This dark, small and cramped Glen Ridge, NJ kitchen had multiple doorways, stairs, windows and inadequate counter or storage space.

Solution:
Extensive reorganizing resulted in a bright open space. The powder room between the small kitchen and small formal dining room was relocated to open up the entire back of the house into a kitchen/ dining area. The stairs from the front hall into the kitchen were angled as was the refrigerator to create a more graceful entrance. An angled peninsula houses the sink and dishwasher on one side and on the other provides a place to snack, do homework or serve a buffet meal. French doors to a new deck replaced windows in the former dining room. Cheerful and vibrant colors are right in step with this artist and her family.
