"I highly recommend Tracey for any kitchen or bath project. She has a particular flair for creating stylish updated looks for older homes. We had a challenging situation fitting a powder room into our kitchen layout but she made it feel open and spacious. I appreciate Tracey's commitment to creative excellence and originality. She produced thoughtful designs that blend form and function very well." |

Problem - Montclair kitchen:
The kitchen no longer worked for the homeowner who is an enthusiastic cook & baker. It felt cramped with inadequate counter, storage and work space. The corner sink was inconvenient. The non-working powder room took up valuable space.

Solution - Montclair kitchen:
Several construction changes opened up the kitchen to daylight and space: relocating the powder room, relocating the door and adding a large bay window. The red Bertazzoni range was the inspiration for the colors in the kitchen and the base cabinets were color matched to it. From the start, we committed to green design, materials & practices wherever possible. The old cabinets and appliances were donated to Habitat For Humanity. The insulation is recycled denim. The cabinets from Modern Cabinet Company are made with formaldehyde free plywood, FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified lumber and water based paint finishes in a regional Poughkeepsie, NY manufacturing plant. The 4x4 backsplash tile featuring non-toxic, lead free glaze is from Market Collection, a company committed to protecting the environment. Windows and the exterior door were replaced with new energy efficient ones. Lighting includes LED undercabinet lights and Lutron dimmers & switches. The Bosch dishwasher and JennAir refrigerator are Energy Star rated. Low VOC Benjamin Moore Aura paint was used on walls and trim.
