Problem:

A tiny cramped Manhattan kitchen and small formal dining room didn't accomodate the casual lifestyle of a busy professional couple and their two small children.

Kitchen & Family Room Before:

Solution:

The kitchen, dining room and dark narrow hall were combined to create a bright and functional kitchen and family room. Soffits and cabinetry hide the multiple ceiling heights and haphazardly placed ductwork revealed during demolition. The large granite peninsula is used for family meals. The kitchen opens into a cozy den with comfortable seating, Tibetan rug and tv/sound system.
