Problem:

The tub/shower combination was small. The small vanity and lack of medicine cabinet made for inadequate storage. The lighting was poor. And quite importantly, there was no exhaust fan.

Solution:

The door swing was reversed and the opening was shifted to allow for a 42" x 42" shower stall. A shallow hall closet was eliminated and incorporated into the bathroom. The lighting was improved with two wall sconces (on a dimmer) flanking the medicine cabinet, a recessed shower light, and a central flush mounted fixture. A top/down window shade provides both privacy and light. A powerful fan on a timer exhausts steam. Radiant floor heat is controlled by a programmable thermostat. The wallpaper with graphic images of classical architecture adds decoration and drama to the white and black color scheme.
