Problem:

Clients wanted their bedroom to feel like a garden.

Bedroom Before:

Solution:

The master bedroom in this 1890s Montclair, NJ craftsman colonial overlooks a deep backyard with a mature flower garden and grape arbor. From the cheerful floral wallpaper to the simple sheer window treatments, everything in this room was chosen to draw the garden inside. To keep the finished room from being too fussy, the florals are paired with plaids, whimsical polka dots and small checks. The natural wool sisal area rug is banded with fuchsia-colored jute, adding a blast of color underfoot. The rattan furniture was chosen for its garden provenance.
