Livingston Bathroom Remodel

Problem: Dark and gloomy

The bathroom was dark and felt smaller than its 55 square feet. The previous owners had installed kiddie fish tiles in the tub area. The style of the bath must be appealing to the two daughters and the family's overnight guests.

Solution: Bright and open

Removing the top half of the tub wall and replacing it with glass visually opened up the space. (The shower rod is securely installed through a cut out in the glass panel.) White subway tile, accents of blue and green glass mosaics, Carrara marble basketweave floor tile and the pale blue walls and ceiling all contribute to a brighter and more open feeling. Lighting was improved with the addition of a wet location recessed light in the tub and a pair of wall sconces. A small custom recessed niche in the half wall holds shampoo.

Green feature:

The IceStone countertop is made in Brooklyn, NY from three core ingredients: 100% recycled glass, Portland cement, and pigment. By purchasing recycled glass surfaces, IceStone customers have diverted over 10 million pounds of glass from landfills since 2003. This product has received Cradle to CradleTM Gold level certification.
