The 54 square foot bathroom was cramped and narrow. The door opened onto the sink. The shower plumbing didn't work.
At the top of the wish list for the new master bathroom was a spacious walk-in shower. Several changes accomplished this and added 30 sq ft: the tub was removed (and reused in the hall bath – see that project here), the tub wall was moved 12" into the large adjacent closet and the door wall was moved 30" toward the bedroom, eliminating the hall into the closet. The closet entrance is now from the bedroom. The shower is flanked by two custom cabinets for storage and display. The clunky radiator was replaced with a space saving recessed one. The elegant console sink is topped with an antique mirror and traditionally styled wall sconces. Marble basketweave floor and 3x6 subway tile with gray grout complete this classic white master bathroom.
