Problem - Montclair NJ Bath Room
The 1950s 55 square foot bath felt tired. No matter how much it was cleaned it never sparkled. The client didn't want the double sinks, the vanity was too low and there wasn't enough storage or light.
Bath Before:
Solution
The new bathroom is bright and light – white tile, green glass accent liners, countertop embedded with crushed recycled mirror and glass, and Waterworks cement & crushed glass floor tiles. The star of the show here is the 36" high custom shapely vanity with tapered legs and lots of storage space inside. The single sink allows for more countertop space. Removing the soffit made space for a dimmable wall sconce above the 3 medicine cabinets ganged together. The shower has a wet location recessed light. The valance with curved bottom and nailhead trim is a sophisticated finishing touch. And by special request – a rack for magazines or the NY Times crossword puzzle.
Eco-friendly aspects include donating to Green Demolitions the 1950s grey laminate vanity, sinks and toilet to give them a new home & keep them out of the landfill, the vanity made from formaldehyde free, FSC certified wood, the water conserving dual flush Toto toilet, CaesarStone countertop made from 24% recycled content, and WaterSense certified faucets.
